Ted Glenwright  

Ted Glenwright has been a founding member of three technology companies, all which resulted in successful acquisitions.  His most recent company, Slip.Net, was one of the first Internet Service Providers in San Francisco. Ted was involved with all aspects of this business as its CEO and Chief Architect and grew the company to 21,000 customers. After selling Slip.Net to FirstWorld (NASDAQ: VRDO), Ted joined FirstWorld as their VP of Internet Strategy and helped Firstworld acquire 8 other ISPs, launch new products and prepare for its IPO in March, 2000.  Since then, Ted has been a full time private investor and General Partner in a $50M Venture fund called The Halo Fund. The Halo Fund matches investments made by The Angels’ Forum, which is a group of 24 experienced angel investors who invest in early stage, disruptive technology companies. Ted’s area of focus is on wireless and Internet Infrastructure and is an active participant in industry forums and events. As an active member of The Angels’ Forum, Ted sources new investments, performs due diligence, negotiates term sheets and assists with fundraising efforts of portfolio companies by preparing them for and introducing them to larger VCs. Ted also provides management advice to over 50 portfolio companies and serves on many of their boards. This unique experience gives Ted the background to assist with many operational challenges businesses face as well as help with recruiting key employees, refining company strategy, and securing financing.

Ted also worked early in his career at Citicorp and Bank of America in financial management and reporting, becoming one of BofA’s youngest Vice Presidents.  His other companies involved software consulting and computer telephony. He graduated cum laude from Colorado State University in 1983 with a BS in Finance and attended the University of Denver’s MBA program as well as pursued coursework in computer software languages and design. He has an extensive technical understanding of Internet internals, UNIX, Networking, Operations Support Systems, Telecommunications, Internet Security and Wireless technologies.
